Profiteering Scum

Danielle Crittenden has the exhaustive list of why Katrina was President Bush's fault.

To the left is a rather disgusting cartoon that sums it up from the Left's perspective.

All we are awaiting is the conspiracy theory related to Karl Rove's evil manipulations (is it possible that he might have been on the coast of Africa when the tropical depression formed that became Katrina? Think of the implications!). I'm sure that in the next few days there will be some bizarre theory put forward showing how Rove altered the wind and weather patterns in a way to maximize the global warming so that Democrats would be killed.

Tom Bevan comments at RealClearPolitics:

The willingness to blame Bush for random occurances, acts of terror like 9/11, and acts of nature like the one just witnessed in the Gulf is symptomatic of a partisanship so severe it borders on a psychosis.

I agree with everything, except for the "borders on" part.

The bodies have not even been counted....and the lunatic fringe rushes to blame their nemesis Bush. It reminds me of how Muslims tend to blame the "Jewish Conspiracy" for their own backwardness and stagnation. It's a similar psychological mechanism at work here, folks.

You notice how using this horrible tragedy for political gain is perfectly OK with them since they believe they can profit politically off of it.

Frankly, they are no better than the looters, gougers, or any other profiteers who seek to cash in on tragedy for their own personal gain.

I consider all such profiteers the scum of the earth--and that's a diagnosis I reserve for the absolute worse sociopaths I have to deal with.

UPDATE: Chrenkoff has a roundup of absolutely insane quotes about the disaster.

UPDATE II: The Anchoress says it all so much better than I could. And she's nicer, too.
