A Free Thinking Italian

Stefania, an Italian blogger at Free Thoughts has something to say about the Sgrena affair:

The Italian gov't has pubblished its version on the Sgrena case. Well, there is nothing that really proves that the U.S. soldiers are to blame. Far from it, it shows that we Italians have something to hide.

For a moment,Italy must stop playing alway the victim.More evidence is showing that the Italian gov't has paid the terrorists, comunicating with them directly.

Worst, it is endangering our alliance with the US for defending a "truth" which does not exist.

The Left praises the gov't' s "version" and says "sometimes this gov't shows that it is not a US puppet"..

I am really disgusted by this overall attitude.

If you haven't checked out her blog yet, go on over there. Stefania is a tireless advocate for Freedom movements all around the world!

UPDATE: Captain Ed is also keeping abreast of this story.

UPDATE 2: Here is the Italian side of the story. The key point:

The investigators found no evidence, however, that the March 4 killing of intelligence agent Nicola Calipari was deliberate. The Italians also didn't object to many of the factual findings contained in a separate American report made public Saturday.

You might want to read the entire article. It seems that the Italians need to "save face" and can't quite be explicit that they agree with the American report for internal political reasons. That's my take, anyway.
